LS International 16 September 2019

LS International and Danone co-sponsor the LEAD Network Annual Conference 2019

“Culture does not make people. People make culture. If it is true that the full humanity of women is not our culture, then we must make it our culture”. With these words, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie the Culture award-winning writer and activist conveys the idea of the need for change: proactive, imperative, indispensable change regarding the political, social and economical equality of the sexes. The LEAD (Leading Executives Advancing Diversity) Network puts these values at the center of their forthcoming networking event in Madrid with the motto “Doing not Trying: Results Matter!”, a new chance to attract, retain and advance women in the retail and consumer goods industry across Europe. A full two-day conference, workshops and discussions around the different ways of “taking real action to create a more diverse and more inclusive environment for employees, customers and overall society”[1].

At LS International we are taking a step further in our mission to, not only stand for the success of women in their professional careers, but to insist on its realization by sponsoring the Madrid LEAD event in partnership with Danone. We believe in the importance of collaborating with organizations which share gender equality as a core of their business values. In 2017, Danone started their One Planet. One Health mission, a call for action for all customers to be a part of a food revolution, reflecting the interconnection between our planet’s health and the health of individuals, families and societies.[2] In the same way, LS International believes in a new approach to Headhunting, striving for an equal-opportunity recruiting process, resulting in a 45% rate of placements occupied by women. Together, we will present a discussion on purpose-led brands: brands with the potential to build a stronger and more committed relationship with customers to create further impact on overall society but also purpose lead careers. This is not a gender specific topic but it is something which at the core of our values.

Gender Equality is one, if not the, biggest unfinished business of the 21st century. Therefore, it is fundamental that people, organizations and companies unite to help, coach, mentor and promote female talent in the workspace. Only in unity and collaboration, women can become their own force in disrupting the status-quo, ensuring a fairer, more inclusive society for all.
